Bio

I am Samuel Oluwatobiloba Akinnuga. I was born and have lived most of my life in Lagos, Nigeria. I attended Makeb Nursery & Primary School in my prep years and then moved to Maryland Convent Private School for the rest of my primary education.
I had my secondary school education in Kawefunmi Secondary School, Sagamu, Ogun State– founded by The Arikawes - Chief Paddy Arikawe and Chief (Mrs.) E.A. Arikawe, who had distinguished themselves as educationalists par excellence. My set was the first 'produced' by the school and proudly launched in the pursuit of higher academic qualifications.
I graduated magna cum laude from Redeemer’s University (RUN) with a Bachelor of Science in Mass Communication (Public Relations & Advertising). While in RUN, I had the rare opportunity of leading two student associations. The first was as President of Redeemer’s University Mass Comm. Students’ Association (RUMSA) and then subsequently as the President of the Redeemer’s University Students’ Association (RUNSA).
Profession
Since September 2019, I’ve been in a paid engagement with Quadrant MSL – a member of MSL Group. In my role there, I have had the opportunity to work with some of the most exciting people to develop proposals tailored to address underlying brand and corporate reputation issues. Before then, I had a 32-month working experience at Insight Communications (Nigeria's leading creative agency and member of the Publicis Groupe). Both experiences have availed me a full-blown exposure to marketing communications and also honed my viewpoint and approach to strategic communications.
I’m an Associate of the Advertising Practitioners’ Council of Nigeria (APCON) and the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR). So far in my marketing communications experience, I have the good pleasure of working on different advertising and PR campaigns. The lessons garnered have been very handy in the growth path.

Interests
I’m very passionate about people and the power of leadership. I like to travel, read memoirs/autobiographies, and discuss Nigerian political history. I am also very passionate about working to build a country that works for all and I take time to write on the ‘state of affairs’ regularly in my column in The Cable and published in other papers.
